Shop Talk

• Eric Smith has joined The Bank of Georgia as senior vice president of commercial lending. A lifelong resident of the area, Smith brings with him not only extensive lending experience but a thorough knowledge of how to best serve the needs of the rapidly growing communities of Fayette and Coweta County, according to Pat Shepherd, president and CEO.

"We are delighted to have Eric join our growing bank," said Shepherd.

Smith has more than 14 years of banking experience, most recently serving as vice president at BB&T, which was formerly First Citizens Bank. "I had a desire to get back to community banking and am excited about this opportunity," commented Smith.

"The Bank of Georgia is a true community bank. All decisions are made here at the bank and lenders have the opportunity toget to know their customers," he added. "Customers appreciate the personal attention of lenders that really care about their success and financial needs," he said.

Smith lives with his wife, Wendy, and their family in Newnan. They have a 10-year-old son, Austin; a 2-year-old son named Logan and are expecting another child in May. They are active members of Crossroads Church in Coweta.
