Dinnertainment promises a night of family fun at Flat Rock

A gourmet dinner mixed with some homegrown entertainment adds up to Dinnertainment Night at Flat Rock Middle School.

Dinnertainment will be April 12 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the school.

For the first time in the history of the school, Flat Rock has organized a night where parents, students and faculty will have an opportunity to come together for fun and relaxation. In keeping with the Italian theme selected for the evening, the school will serve pizza and a special spaghetti dinner with authentic sauce made by Flat Rock's own Jane Gardner.

During the course of the meal, guests will enjoy the talents of the school's community. The entertainment lineup includes singing, dancing and comedic skits performed by students and teachers. Principal Tyrone Jones will provide a musical interlude on the piano.

"This is a Flat Rock get-together where parents can see a different side of us," said Jones. "This is our first time doing this so we are hoping for a good turnout. We saw this event as an opportunity for us to come together as a family."

For $5 per person, guests can sit down to a spaghetti dinner complete with salad, roll and tea while enjoying the talents of students and faculty at the school. Money raised at Dinnertainment will be used to help purchase teacher support materials and supplies for the teachers' lounge and workroom.

"This is going to be a great evening. Hopefully it will be the start of something big here at Flat Rock," said Jones.
