Surplus food is offered

The U.S. Department of Agriculture will give out surplus food commodities Friday, March 30 at three locations in Fayette County:

Peachtree Villas, 100 Villa Pt., Peachtree City, 9 - 11:30 a.m.;

Brooks City Hall, 9 a.m. to noon.

Fayette Senior Services, 390 Lee St., Fayetteville, 9 a.m. to noon.

Recipients must be residents of Fayette and must present signed declarations stating that they meet income requirements.

Income levels run from $10,855 a year for a single person to $37,245 for a family of eight. For families over eight, add $3,770 for each person.

If obtaining commodities for another person, get authority for pickup in writing from that person, along with his or her name, address, phone number, Social Security number, the number in the household and family income.
