We
can all learn from the 'Prayer of Jabez' By REV. JOHN HATCHER Religion Columnist Bruce Wilkinson, founder of Walk Through the Bible Ministry, has become very effective in calling the church's attention to two verses of the Old Testament: 1 Chronicles 4: 10,11. The two verses contain what Wilkinson has popularized in a book as The Prayer of Jabez. The New American Standard Bible (Update Edition) translates the two verses as: "Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother named him Jabez saying, 'Because I bore him with pain.' Now Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, 'Oh that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm that it may not pain me.' And God granted him what he requested. Christian music concert planned at Holy Trinity Church Saturday
