Chamber's golf tournament is next week
Everyone's excited about the upcoming tune-up for The Masters Golf Tournament hosted by the Fayette County Chamber. This 13th annual event is set for Wednesday, March 28 at Whitewater Creek Country Club. While it's never too late to join the excitement as a sponsor, you're going to have to get on a waiting list if you want to play because the Tournament is sold out with a total of forty foursomes! Through sponsorships and tournament fees, the Tune-up for the Masters Tournament is the biggest Chamber fund raising event of the year. The Chairman of the Golf Tournament Committee, Kevin Miller of Merrill Lynch adds, "The main purpose behind the Tournament is to raise money for programs for the Chamber but we also want to provide our members and citizens of the community a chance to just have fun and network and pray for good weather." Festivities begin with an 11 a.m. lunch, sponsored by Wachovia Bank, followed immediately by a noon shotgun start. The chamber will sell "Mulligan" tickets which will be used to draw for numerous prizes. Everyone players and non-players can take a "swing" for the drawing for a Grand Prize of two Delta Business Elite tickets, sponsored by Delta Airlines, which are good for travel anywhere in the US, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. John Boatright, of Delta Airlines stated, "Delta is pleased to again this year be a Diamond Sponsor of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament. Many of Delta's employees call Fayette County home, and we are also privileged to serve many other citizens as Delta's customers. A vibrant community needs an active Chamber, and Fayette County is fortunate that we have an excellent leadership team, active membership, and one that proactively works to make this an even greater place to work and live. It is our hope through this sponsorship we support the Chamber's many activities." The chamber would like to thank all who have signed up to date to sponsor the event.
