Braelinn Baptist reaching out to the community and around the world

Braelinn Baptist Church in Peachtree City advertised itself as a purpose-driven church in 1987.

From its beginning then through its plan for growth in 2001, it has not strayed from that goal.

The Sunday morning services minister to an average attendance of 1,000 persons. They are still in the business of transforming lives and equipping members for an effective and meaningful ministry, so they may in turn minister to others in order to glorify God.

In planning for the future, the church has purchased 83 acres on north Ga. Highway 74 at Dogwood Trail.

All segments of membership work in ministering to others. Last summer about 50 youth and adults traveled to Birmingham, Knoxville and Puerto Rico working primarily on repairing substandard housing. About 50 adults traveled to Italy, Croatia, North Africa and Kazakstan performing street evangelism, setting up an underground recording studio and relieving a worship team aboard a ship.

The Rev. Barry Odom, associate pastor, said they are very proud of the newest ministry in the church, teaching English as a second language. Conducted each Monday night, the class has attracted people originally from Pakistan, Mexico, Columbia and Japan. Call the church for more information.

Braelinn Community Services is another fairly recent ministry. To date they have found dozens of cars for people in need, and assist families with food, jobs, mentoring and tutoring.

The congregation is looking forward to the Easter season when it will be holding special Easter services Saturday night, April 14, at 6 p.m. and Sunday morning at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. The annual Easter egg hunt will take place Saturday morning.

Regular worship hours are at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Bible studies are held both at the church on Sunday mornings and at various homes throughout the week.

The church is located at 777 Robinson Road and can be reached at 770-487-6691.
