The baseball season started for several teams Monday and the results were not great.

Starr's Mill faced Griffin Monday and lost 9-0. The Panthers produced two hits in the loss and recorded three errors. They played at Northgate Wednesday evening and will host Landmark Christian School Saturday at 11 a.m.

McIntosh played Northgate Monday evening and had a more encouraging outing. J.T. Thompson was the starting pitcher for the Chiefs and he recorded five shutout innings, giving up three hits, three walks and striking out two batters. He also got an RBI single, scoring Jim O'Shea and recorded a run while scoring off an error.

Kyle Schisler came on to pitch in relief and the Vikings clawed their way back into the game, thanks to a number of errors. Eventually, Northgate took the lead and won 8-2.

McIntosh hosted Banneker Wednesday evening and will play at Sandy Creek today at 5:30 p.m.

Sandy Creek got a crack at Northgate Tuesday afternoon and won 5-3. The Patriots had a three-run first inning and then sealed the deal with a solo home run from senior catcher Rusty Bennett. Tim Lavoie, Jack Cranford and Tyler Herron shared pitching duties in the win.
