The Starr's Mill boys soccer team, ranked sixth in AAAAA, hosted Fayette County last Friday and the Panthers found themselves down 1-0 early.

They came alive in the second half however, getting goals from Robert Cooper, Jason Daley, Brandon Henry and Tim Fevella. The Panthers outshot Fayette County 23-7 and won 4-1.

Tuesday, Starr's Mill's boys faced Mt. Zion, Jonesboro and won 15-0. The Panthers outshot the Bulldogs 46-0 and got goals from Fevella, Henry and Brandon Adams. The Lady Panthers, ranked fourth in AAAAA, played Jonesboro Tuesday and won 12-0. Alison graham scored five goals for Starr's Mill as the girls improved their record to 1-0-1.

Starr's Mill's boys will host Forest Park tonight and will travel with the girls team to Parkview for games tomorrow evening. The lady panthers will host Walton Tuesday evening.

McIntosh's boys and girls hosted Riverdale Tuesday night and both teams won 15-0. The girls, currently ranked second in AAAAA, will play at Newnan tonight. The boys, ranked fourth in AAAAA, will play in the game following the girls' match. Kick off for the girls' match is 5:30 in a rematch of last year's area semifinals.

Newnan fell victim to Douglas County Monday night in the varsity match-up between the two schools, 4-2.The Lady Cougars started with the continuing bad habit of giving up early goals as Douglas took the lead after only five minutes of play. They added a second with just over 13 minutes to go in the half but the second goal seemed to inspire the Newnan squad.

Whitney Mansour cleared the ball from the defensive end with Amanda Morton picking up the loose ball and racing in to close the gap to 2-1 with ten minutes remaining in the half. Not long after that, Lanie Scott beat the defense to the ball and played a clever cross for Morton to run onto and finish to tie the match at two at halftime. Douglas County controlled the ball for most of the second half and overtime loomed as time was running down.

But Douglas scored two quick goals, one off a corner kick, to seal the win.
