Luncheon
and fashion show to benefiot breast cancer awareness
The Bosom Buddies annual Celebration of Life luncheon and fashion show will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17 at the Swissotel in Atlanta. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Philip H. Beegle Jr., M.D., of Atlanta Plastic Surgery. The show will feature fashions from Rich's, in the store's fourth year of corporate sponsorship, and will be modeled by breast cancer survivors and professional models, previewing the season's latest trends. The master of ceremonies will be Neil Dempster, a performance and consultant trainer. The fashion show's purpose is to raise funds to further enhance Bosom Buddies' mission of providing positive support and education for women facing breast cancer, treatment and recovery. This nonprofit, statewide volunteer-based organization serves more than 1,000 cancer patients annually and reaches more than 200,000 Georgians through various outreach programs. Services the group provides include support groups, information and referral, CancerHelp Computer and resource library, patient gift closet (includes prosthesis and bras for uninsured mastectomy patients, wigs, hats and turbans for women with hair loss), mammography and prostate screening, speakers' bureau and more.
