Starr's
Mill to present 'You're A Good man, Charlie Brown'
By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
Peanuts was perhaps the most famous comic strip of all time. The adventures of Charlie Brown and his gang of friends, including Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, and of course, his sister, Sally, and his dog, Snoopy, were chronicled by the late Charles Schulz for close to 50 years. The comic strip progressed into successful animated specials and a series and then into the Broadway musical "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." The musical is now performed all over the world and this weekend it will be performed at Starr's Mill High School. The musical includes all of your favorite Peanuts characters singing and dancing with songs like "My Blanket and Me," "Happiness Is," "The Book Report" and "Snoopy." All of the famous scenarios from Peanuts are present, such as Charlie Brown not being able to fly a kite or kick a football, and even the effect that the little red-haired girl has on him. The cast includes Zac Stutts as Charlie Brown, Joanne Lannan as Lucy, Josh Davis as Linus, Craig DeLorenzo as Schroeder, Carlee Baker as Peppermint Patty and Katie Blackwood as Snoopy. The cast also includes 20 school children and birds. The show is directed by Diane Gardner with Stuart Fail as the technical director, Dan Lane as the vocal director, Tony Daniels directing the pit orchestra and Michelle Fail as the choreographer. "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" will be presented Wednesday through Sunday in the Duke Auditorium at Starr's Mill High School. Performances will be at at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for students. Children under age 3 will be admitted for free. Starr's Mill students may purchase special student tickets for $4 for the Wednesday and Thursday performances only. |
