Graham has true Irish connection

The Irish are among us and we are often unaware. Take the case of Connie Graham.

With grandparents named Molly Hurley and Felix McGivern, most would assume she was Irish. If she happened to mention that her name really wasn't Connie, but Conna, you would know she had to be Irish.

Conna was named for the town of Conna, County Cork, Ireland. Her grandparents immigrated to the "promised land of America" back during a difficult time in Ireland with many others. They worked for a wealthy family for five years before being able to claim land in the Midwest.

Conna was "born and raised" in Iowa. She and husband, John, spent twelve years overseas and have visited Ireland. Conna visited the town she was named after, sending post cards to family and friends with the "Conna" postmark on them.

The Grahams will be spending their St. Patrick's Day holiday with their three grandchildren in Minneapolis. The plan is to camp out at a hotel and enjoy swimming, saunas and all of the other amenities.

Watch the Prime Timer Pages for a future profile on this interesting couple. They have been in Peachtree City for eight years and have jumped right into things.
