Complainers shouldn't overturn voice-control leash law

A March 2001 "UPDATE Peachtree City" article stated, "The City has received 'several complaints' recently from path user who have encountered unleashed dogs, 'accompanied by the owner,' on the paths."

There was no mention if these "path users" were threatened, menaced or injured by these dogs. We believe that many Peachtree City residents are not aware of the "voice command" provision in the current PTC leash law which gives the owner the option of using a leash or using voice command to control their pet.

This confusion has even emboldened the self-proclaimed leash law enforcers to complain about our own dog accompanied and on voice command on our own property.

Since the city is reviewing the practicality of this law, we believe that if the current law is more widely communicated, there will be no need to harness every pet in Peachtree City because of the indignant "several complainers."
