Girls softball league gets extended registration Senoia Little League girls softball has extended registration until March 3. Girls in Fayette and Coweta counties can now take advantage of the Little League program in the following age groups: 7-8 (coach pitch), 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. Practices begin March 10 and the season will begin March 24. Travel for these teams will be limited to Fayette and Coweta counties, with the home field located in Senoia. At the conclusion of the regular season, all star teams will be selected in the 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 age groups. District play for these all-stars will begin July 1. The Little League tournament ladder begins at the district level and then moves on to state, division, regional and World Series levels. Girls are given the opportunity to show their skills during a tryout session and then are placed on teams using an open draft method (all players are placed on teams). Emphasis at the lower age levels is placed on learning fundamentals and having fun. Registration is $50 per player. For information, call Cindy Wilson at 770-599-6095. |
