Two series of Lenten services will take place this year at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City, said the Rev. John Weber, senior pastor.

Beginning March 7, Derek Olsen, the congregation's pastoral intern, will offer a brief time each Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. "to give congregants and members of the community a time to pause in the midst of their day and to reflect on their Lenten promises," he said. Responsive prayers will form the basis of the service, interspersed with quiet music and periods of silence.

Lenten services will also be held Thursday evenings on the theme, "Encounters with Christ." The first, March 8, will include a monologue on Jesus meeting the blind man. The remaining four, March 15 through April 5, will feature brief contemporary dramas portraying Jesus meeting Mary and Martha, Nicodemus, James and John, and Peter.

The 7 p.m. liturgy will be Holden Evening Prayer, a contemplative setting that sets the tone for Lent.

The community is welcome to these services, Weber said. The church is located at Peachtree Parkway and Ga. Highway 54. For further information, call 770-487-8717.
