Sandy
Creek enters first round of state tournament
Sandy Creek's boys
basketball team went 1-2 in the region tournament and qualified for
the AAAA state tournament. They defeated Woodward Academy, 57-46, but
lost to Westlake, 74-60 and to Creekside, 60-49. All three games were
closer than the score indicates, but fatigue may have played a factor
in the two losses.
Several
tournaments keep soccer squads busy
The
soccer season began last weekend with jamborees around the state, testing
team's skills in games that would not count on their record. For some
teams, the season began on Tuesday, at least it was supposed to. McIntosh's
boys and girls were scheduled to meet North Clayton. The team never
arrived at McIntosh, so the two varsity squads compted against each
other. The Chiefs and Lady Chiefs are scheduled to meet Lovejoy at home
tonight with games beginning at 6 p.m.
