Group VI's new project gets underway Sunday
Sunday has been set for Carriage Lane Presbyterian's groundbreaking ceremony for its new sanctuary complex, to be built by Group VI Corporation. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a brunch. A special worship service will be at 11 a.m, followed immediately by the groundbreaking ceremony. Carriage Lane is at the eastern entry way to Peachtree City at the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Carriage Lane. The church, which now has an attendance of more than 300, has been planning this expansion for a number of years. The complex will feature a new sanctuary, new administration and educational space and a remodeling of its existing building to match the new structure. The 7.5-acre property, which also contains an existing facility for youth and fellowship activities, has been home to the church for nine years. Carriage Lane was founded approximately 10 years ago and is an affiliate of the Presbyterian Church in America. Group VI Corp. will be the general contractor for the new building, which was designed by the architectural firm of Foley Design Associates Architects Inc. Group VI plans to complete the construction of this 25,400-sq. ft. building this fall. Group VI has completed many office, medical, industrial, religious and commercial projects throughout the Southeast. The company has constructed numerous religious projects in Fayette County, including First Presbyterian, Fayette Presbyterian, St. Paul's Lutheran, and Christ Our Shepherd.
