The North Georgia College and State University women's soccer team had a successful season, thanks in part to a former McIntosh player.

Katie Skorstad, a 2000 McIntosh graduate, was selected as the team's best defensive player of the year. She was also named to the NAIA Georgia, Alabam and Carolina conference all-conference team.

The team, coached by Curly Denier, had their first winning season in their three years of existence this year. They placed first in their division and seconds in regional competition. Denier was named Coach of the Year for the NAIA GAC conference.
