PTC Flash has successful cross country season

The Peachtree City Flash cross-country program recently wrapped up a successful season. The team, which features local youth ages five to 14 years old, was directed by Bill Anderson and David Leonard with Rose Kempton serving as an assistant coach.

The team competed in five cross-country meets throughout the season with the state meet being held in Carrollton. Almost all of the athletes qualified for the regionals in Rockville, Md. and four athletes qualified for the nationals which were held in Reno, Nevada. The four athletes who qualified for Reno were Melissa Anderson, Vince Brown, Rebecca Stokes and Shannon Phillips.

An informal awards banquet was held at Partners Pizza at the end of the season with each participant receiving a certificate. Certificates and awards were given compliments of the Peachtree City Running Club.

The award winners were; Coaches Award Tomoharu Shimada and Chelsea Bowman; Most Improved Caleb Robertson and Mary Frances Roberts; Most Dedicated Justin Jarrell and Kie Fujii; Most valuable Runner Rebecca Stokes and Vince Brown.
