Wednesday, February 14, 2001 ParkLane honored by Plymart ParkLane Homes received the Industry Leadership Award from Plymart Building Materials Company while cruising aboard the MS Imagination. The award was presented by cruise sponsor Rich Mahaffey of Plymart. ParkLane Homes received the award for "outstanding participation and performance in improving operations efficiencies." "ParkLane Homes devoted the necessary time of their personnel to jointly meet with Plymart's staff to fine-tune material takeoff, improve truck deliveries, speed up material overage credits, and improve each other's operational systems," said Mahaffey. "Both groups opened themselves up to constructive criticism for the common goal of self-improvement that would benefit everyone involved." "This was truly an honor for us to receive this award," said Jeff Ellis, president of ParkLane Homes. "My partners, Luke Nickol and Joe Cook, and I realized that when we created ParkLane Homes, we would need a full-service building materials company to service our needs. And, in order to better service our customers, we would need to 'partner' with that company to receive the best prices and service. "In return, we would have to be efficient in our material takeoff and timely in our ordering of materials to make them as profitable as possible. That's where Plymart came in. They had everything we needed and our relationship has thrived from there. We still meet regularly to fine-tune any problems that pop up from time to time." ParkLane Homes is currently building in Horsemen's Run and on custom lots throughout the Fayette County area.
