Paddlers to hold trips and classes this weekend

The Peachtree City Paddlers will be busy this weekend.

The club has scheduled an Upper Hooch trip this Saturday. Leading the trip will be Harvey Witt of Griffin, the club's president for 2001. Persons interested in participating can call Witt at 770-227-5407 after 7 p.m.

The Peachtree City Paddlers canoe and kayak club will also have a "film festival" Sunday at the clubhouse in the Lakemont subdivision, located on Redwine Road south of Fayetteville, will begin with a lake paddle at 2 p.m. Other activities during the day will include watching videos about paddling, classes on paddling, and talks about water safety, outfitting, cold weather gear, and other subjects.

Participants are asked to bring their own beverages, and pizza will be ordered for dinner. Those planning to participate are asked to call contact Robert Osburn at rosborn45@aol.com, or they can call Harvey Witt at 770-227-5407 after 7 p.m.
