Sermon on the Mount to be dramatized Sunday at Bethany United Methodist

The Rev. Mark Outlaw, pastor at Bethany United Methodist Church, will present a dramatization of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount this Sunday. Feb. 11 at the 11 a.m. worship service. The Sermon is found in the Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5-7.

Rev. Outlaw has performed the Sermon on two other occasions.

"The Sermon on the Mount speaks to the hear of life, of morality and values," Rev. Outlaw said. "Responses have been quite interesting. Some have said, 'He really spoke the truth.' Others have said, "I'll never forget it.'"

Rev. Outlaw says his inspiration to do the Sermon was "spirit led." "I felt compelled to recreate the Sermon experience for the blessing and benefit of others," he said. "I've never seen anyone do it and I hope those who experience it will be touched and inspired."

The community is invited to attend the performance. Bethany is at the crossroads of lee's Lake Rd. and Rivers Rd. in north Fayette County.
