Cornerstone Bible Church to host Feb. 4 study on helping today's youth distinguish right from wrong

Cornerstone Bible Church will host a study based on John McDowell's book, "Right From Wrong," on Sunday evening, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. The study concerns what parents need to know in order to help youth make right choices in their lives. Parents, grandparents, and others who work with youth are encouraged to attend.

Copies of McDowell's book will be available for purchase for a cost of $10. The book is a supplement to the study.

"Without question, we are living in a society in which there is much moral confusion among our young people," a spokesperson said. "This moral confusion is typified by the attitude, 'Just because it's right for you doesn't mean it's right for me.' What is really chilling is that this moral confusion is infecting churches that profess to be committed to the authority of Scripture."

A recent study shows that 57 percent of churched youth cannot state that an objective standard of truth even exists.

"In other words," the spokesperson continued, "a majority of churched youth don't believe in absolute truth, that there are certain things that are right for all people, for all times, for all places. The result of this attitude is that churched youth can no longer determine right from wrong."

The study is in five lessons and will be taught at the church on Rivers Rd. in north Fayette County.
