Starr's Mill swimmers score a big win over Sandy Creek

The Starr's Mill Panthers swim team defeated cross-town rival Sandy Creek in a huge victory last Friday at the Kedron Aquatic Center. The boys team won 181-80, while the girls won 180-89.

First-place winners for the Panthers were as follows: Kyle Flora, 200 IM and 100 Back; Brittany Stevens, 200 IM and100 Fly; Will Hardison and Laurel Surratt, 100 Free and 100 Breast; Ricardo Ramos and Kim Wetter, 200 Free; Eric Simonsen and Samantha Hudson, 50 Free; Brett Stevens, 100 Fly; Josh Strickland, 500 Free; Krista Ulrich, 100 Back.

Starr's Mill is preparing for the Fayette County Championship meet which will be held at the Kedron Aquatic Center Feb. 2. The State Championships follow Feb. 16-17. The Panthers currently have five swimmers who have qualified for the state meet.
