There is one week left before the area wrestling meets and all of the local high schools are trying to get their wrestlers ready.

McIntosh wrestled yesterday evening at Pike County and will wrestle tomorrow at Shiloh High School at 6 p.m. The Chiefs finished the Fayette-Henry Duals last weekend with a 1-3 record but got solid performances from Josh Allison and Brad Graham, both of whom went 3-1 at the meet, and David Lee. Daniel Graham is also a contender at next weekend's area meet.

To get to Shiloh High School, take I-85 North to I-285 East to the Ga. 10/Memorial Dr. exit. Bear to the right on the ramp and travel on Memorial Dr. to the Stone Mountain Bypass, which soon becomes the Stone Mountain Freeway. Turn left on U.S. 78 and then take a right on Ga. 264/Bethany Church Rd. SW, followed by a right on to Shiloh Rd. SW. The school should be up ahead.

Sandy Creek is headed to Clarke Central High School in Athens tonight to face Clarke Central, now coached by former McIntosh coach Marty Hutsell, and Madison High School. The wrestling action will begin at 5:30 p.m.

To get to Clarke Central, Take I-85 North to 316 and 316 to the Athens exit. Travel on Atlanta Highway until you get to The Varsity. At The Varsity, take a right on to Milledge Ave. and at the next light at Baxter St. take a right. Clarke Central High School will be on the right.

Starr's Mill wrestled at Alexander High School on Wednesday and faced Alexander, Lithia Springs and Douglas County. The Panthers will host the Panther Duals on Saturday with action beginning at 9:30 a.m.

East Coweta, Northgate and Newnan High School will compete against each other for the Coweta County Championships today at Northgate High School at 5:30 p.m. Northgate participated in the place of Sandy Creek at the Fayette-Henry Duals last week and went 3-1 at the meet.

Fayette County's wrestlers will wrestle Parkview at home on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and will travel to Pope High School on Saturday for matches at 6 p.m.
