4-A-Side tourney complete

The 4-A-Side Championships were played at the Soccer Centre on Martin Luther King Day and champions were crowned in 11 different age groups. This year's field of 76 teams was one of the largest fields in recent years.

Th champions were: U-10 boys-Stella Maris, U-10 girls-Sugar and Spice, U-11 boys-Strikers, U-11 girls-Bobcats, U-12 boys-Deadly Force, U-12 girls-Slick Chicks, U-13 boys-Arsenal, U-13 girls-Traks, U-14 boys-Stella Maris, U-14 girls-Sweet Feet and U-15 boys-Liverpool.

The second tournament in the series will be held Presidents Day, Feb. 19, and there are still openings in all age groups. The large field at the Centre is divided into three smaller fields, and with the small arena allow four games to go on simultaneously. Teams will play round-robin and playoff games with a minimum of six games guaranteed; games are eight minutes long. Teams will play four-a-side, one goalkeeper and three field players, and may have up to three substitutes.
