Lockett named to Prep Team of Month

Sandy Creek's L.T. Lockett has locked up another accolade for the 2001 basketball season. On Wednesday, the Atlanta Tipoff Club and the Atlanta journal Constitiution named their Boys and Girls Prep Teams of the Month and Lockett made the cut.

Lockett has been integral to the Patriots' success this season, leading his team to a 12-5 record. Over the weekend, he scored 32 points against Creekside and 24 points against Northgate, though he only played in the second half of that game. He recently signed to play with Western Carolina University in the fall.

All members of the Metro Atlanta Prep Team of the Month will be honored at the Jan. 22 meeting of the Atlanta Tipoff Club. The meeting will be held at the Cobb Galleria Centre at 7:30 p.m. The speakers at the January meeting will be Andy Landers, coach of the University of Georgia Lady Bulldogs, and Lefty Driesell, coach of the Georgia State Panthers.
