McIntosh swimmers sink Fayette County By
MICHAEL BOYLAN The McIntosh swim team met Fayette County High School, one of its biggest rivals, at the Kedron Aquatic Center last Friday and won the meet. The boys defeated the Tigers 171-103, while the girls defeated the Lady Tigers 152-107. "We got great performances from some of our top swimmers," said Coach Sean Murphy. "Hilary White and Asami Mase swam really well for the girls and George Clark and Billy Whitehouse performed well for the boys." All four swimmers mentioned have qualified for the state meet. Other state qualifiers on the McIntosh team are Becca Thome, Schaefer Abercrombie and Tiffany Grant for the girls and Mike Powers and Mike Broker for the boys. McIntosh and Fayette County will meet again at the County Championships, which will be held Feb. 2. The Chiefs next meet will be Jan. 26 in Decatur. Two other county rivals will meet this weekend when Sandy Creek and Starr's Mill meet at the Kedron Aquatic Center this Friday at 5:30 p.m. |
