The county dual meet was held last week at Sandy Creek high School but it was Starr's Mill who looked like the home team.

The Panthers went 3-0 in the meet and had 12 individual champions.

McIntosh turned a few heads at the meet by going 2-1 and capturing second place. The Chiefs' only individual champion was Daniel Graham at 112 pounds, but his match with Lee Gresham of Starr's Mill was one of the most exciting matches of the night, made more exciting by the fact that these two will almost certainly meet again this season.

Fayette County finished in third place with a 1-2 record while Sandy Creek finished 0-3.

The individual champions of the meet for Starr's Mill were Tyler Kourajian, 103; Kevin Trickey, 119; Scott Hartpence, 130; Brian Kyser, 135, Danny Davidson, 140; Jason Kiefer, 145; Ariston Bowers, 152; Christopher Coleman, 160; Drew Cofty and Matt Fuhrman, 171; Daniel Fuhrman, 189; and Tony Tofanelli, 215.

Fayette County's Matt Kellerman was a champion at 125 and Sandy Creek's Kedric Golston was a champion at 275.

As for this week, Starr's Mill will host East Coweta and Lovejoy tonight at 6 p.m. and will travel to Jonesboro to face the Cardinals and Riverdale Friday at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, the Panthers will join McIntosh and Fayette County at Fayette County High School for the Fayette/Henry Duals at 1 p.m.

Sandy Creek will spend the weekend at the Chattahoochee Invitational, beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
