Reinhardt Eagles soar with four former McIntosh players By
MICHAEL BOYLAN Four members of last year's McIntosh Chiefs boys soccer team played for the Reinhardt Eagles team this fall. Though only freshmen, their impact was great. In fact, there were 16 freshmen on the squad this year and the team went 8-11-1. Fabian Lamy was the starting goalkeeper. He faced 179 shots during the season and allowed 45 goals, producig a goals against average of 2.46. He also had an assist during the season. Beau Balesky, a starting forward, was the second leading goal scorer on the team with nine. He also had five assists during the season and was tied for most points on the team with 23. Zach McManus, a midfielder, played in 12 games for the Eagles this year, scoring one goal and notching two assists. Jason Castro had similar success as a midfielder, scoring a goal and nabbing two assists. Jordan Vires, a sophomore, is a defender on the team and is also from Peachtree City. Reinhardt College is a member of the Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and also a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). |
