Offshoot Productions will start the new year with a Stars on the Southern Crescent coffee house lineup that is chock full of entertainment.

Making his debut at the coffee house will be Bill Kahler. Kahler is a folk artist, specializing in acoustic, contemporary folk music. The other main act will be the celtic band, "Barney's Goat," which is a favorite among regular coffee house patrons. Barney's Goat offers a unique blend of humor and music.

In addition to these performances, several actors from ofshoot's production of "Twelfth Night" will sing, perform monologues and play instruments. As always, there will be a selection of hot beverages and desserts to choose from.

The show will be held at the LaFayette Community School on Saturday, Jan. 13. Doors open at 7:45 p.m. and the show will begin at 8:15 p.m. General admission is $7, with a $5 special admission for seniors or children under the age of 12. Tables of eight or more are available at group rates, with payment in advance.

Patrons who bring mugs from home will be eligible for discounts on hot beverages and the "most unusual mug" award.

Also on the boards for this month are the opening of "Twelfth Night" and an "Acting Shakspeare" workshop offered by Laura Cole. Cole has appeared at Shakespeare Tavern and will portray Viola in Ofshoot's production of "Twelfth Night." The workshop will be held on Sunday, Jan. 14 from 2-5 p.m. at LaFayette Educational Center. The fee for the workshop is $25 and pre-registration is advised.
