Offshoot offers murder mystery to raise funds for apprentice program

Just in time to ward off the January blahs, Offshoot Productions will present "Million Dollar Murder: The Final Answer" at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 5 and 6, at the LaFayette Educational Center in Fayetteville.

With musical numbers, lots of comedy and participation by audience members, the show is designed to re-ignite the holiday feeling in the audience. In addition to offering a mystery for the audience to solve, the production is a fund-raiser for Offshoot's education, apprentice and outreach programs.

The show's creator, Peachtree City resident Genevieve Ramsey, has been writing, producing and directing murder mysteries for over eight years in Hilton Head, S.C. Each season her company, the Pushcart Players, performs weekly at the Port Royal Clubhouse Dinner Theater.

Her own acting career began in 1991, when she performed for "Deadly Inquest" aboard the Vagabond cruise ship in Hilton Head.

Tickets, $12 including dessert and beverage, are available at the Fayette County Library, 770-461-8841; the Peachtree City Library, 770-631-2520; and at the door. The event takes place in the Royce Regeon Band Hall at the LaFayette Educational Center 205 LaFayette Ave.
