It is that time of year again.

The 39th annual Atlanta Boat Show will be Jan. 3-7 at the Georgia World Congress Center.

"This is our '2001 and fun' event and we're very proud of what we have to offer this year," said Holly Price, show manager. "It is the only annual boating event in Georgia where you can find hundreds of boats and accessories on sale at one time under one roof."

There will be aisles on 500,000 square feet, containing the best deals on boats and accessories. Almost every type of boat will be available, including houseboats, sailboats, fishing and pontoon boats and personal watercraft.

There is much more to the Atlanta Boat Show than just boats. There will be a live shark show, autograph signings from John Smoltz Thursday, 7-9 p.m., and Phil Niekro Saturday, 1-3 p.m., a giant rock climbing wall, a kids' fishing clinic, bumper boats and the DUDE Concept boat.

The Doin' Ultimate Design Experiments boat will give boating enthusiasts a chance to see what's ahead in the future of their favorite pastime.

There also will be a "sailbosting" seminar, a "let's go fishing" center, a showcase on outdoor travel, more than 25 antique sailboats and much more.

Show hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults, $3 for children 6-12 and free to children under 6. Call 770-951-2500 or visit www.boatshows.com for information.
