Sports Calendar

* The Fayette County Wrestling Club will meet Mondays and Thursdays at the old Fayette County High School gym from 7-8:30 p.m. The club is open to students in first through eighth grade and is coached by Frank Bennett and Ron Nelson. * The Peachtree City Lacrosse Club will be starting its first competitive season on Feb. 1, 2001 at the Booth Middle School. Meeting times are 4:00pm for boys and 5:00pm for girls. Come join and have some fun playing the "Fastest Sport on Two Feet" for more info call Coach Craver # 770-486-8616

* Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All Star Summer Basketball Camp. Boys, ages 8-19 and Girls, ages 10-19, can apply. There are camps located all over the country. Former participants include Tim Duncan, Michael Jordan, Jerry Stackhouse and Antawn Jamison. Players are selected by invitation only and college scholarships are possible for players named to the All-American Team. For an evaluation form, call 704-568-6801.

* The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is still accepting registrations for the Under 12 rec teams as well as Under 10 through Under 13 Premier, Classic and Athena teams. Call 770-460-8785.

* The Knights of Columbus Council 11458 of Fayetteville will sponsor "basketball free throw competition for boys and girls 10-14 at Fayetteville Primary Schools gymnasium Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. Call 770-461-0924.

* The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is sponsoring Sports Speed Training on Tuesday evenings in January and February to be held at the indoor centre. There will be eight sessions at a cost of $8 per session or $50 for the entire series. There will be two sessions per day; 5:30-6:30 p.m. for 8-11 year olds and 6:30-7:30 p.m. for 12-14 year olds. The sessions will be limited to 25 players each. The training will be supervised by Wylie J. Lilly, a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. Call 770-460-8785 for more information.

* Tryouts for the Peachtree City Competitive/Traveling baseball teams will be held on Jan. 13. * The Peachtree City Youth Soccer Association announces Spring 2001 soccer registration sessions for new and returning players on Tuesday, January 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, January 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Peachtree City Library. * The Spring 2001 season of Peachtree City Roller Hockey will begin on march 24. registration will be held on Jan. 13 at the Kedron Field House from 9 a.m. to noon. The league is open to children ages 7 to 15 and will cost $90. A copy of the birth certificate will be required at regsitration.
