With New Year's Day just around the corner, many people are contemplating their New Year's resolutions.

Perhaps the most common resolution is to get back in shape or to become more physically fit. There are many ways to achieve that goal and not all of them involve spending time in a gym.

There are also many clubs and classes that will allow you to get back in shape and back on the playing field.

A very popular club in Fayette County is Fayette Biking For Life, Inc. The club meets for a weekly bike ride around the county and also offers classes on occasion. Riders of any experience can join and in warmer weather, the club takes longer trips.

A similar club is the Peachtree Paddlers. The Paddlers meet weekly in the off season at the Kedron Aquatic Center for indoor roll pratice. When the weather gets warmer, the Paddlers travel all over the state and southeast for day and weekend trips down some great rivers. Paddlers of all experience are welcome in the club.

Another very successful club is the Peachtree City Running Club (PTCRC). The club holds the annual Peachtree City Classic in October, as well as a summer track program at McIntosh High School. They meet and run quite often and also help raise funds for high school track programs and scholarships. Visit the club on the web at www.ptcrc.com.
