Business Coalition elects 2001 A prominent metro-area business coalition has tapped a new slate of officers to lead the group's efforts to tackle the issues facing business in 2001, including a regional coordination of water management. The Regional Business Coalition, comprising 15 chambers of commerce in 12 metro counties including Fayette, named Greater North Fulton Chamber chairman and Georgia Power Company statewide manager/distribution Clyde Heath as chairman, to replace Henry County real estate developer J.T. Williams. Cobb County banker Kessell Stelling will serve as vice chairman. The other officers/Executive Committee members for 2001 are: Secretary Barbara Noon (Forsyth/director, physician relations, Northwoods Medical Specialists); Treasurer Tom Andersen (Gwinnett/Andersen, Davidson & Tate); Policy Board John Dewberry (Atlanta/president, Dewberry Capital); Tate Godfrey (Fayette/director, industrial sales, Pathway Communities); J.T. Williams (Henry/president and CEO, Killearn Inc.). The Regional Business Coalition is a consortium of the Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Conyers-Rockdale, Cumming-Forsyth, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, greater north Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, metro Atlanta, Newnan-Coweta, south Fulton chambers of commerce and Central Atlanta Progress. A non-partisan, not-for-profit association, the RBC focuses on key regional issues including air quality, water and transportation. Its mission is to provide business leadership on issues critical to the region's continued prosperity. |
