PACE ends football season with a win

The PACE Christian High School Panthers spoiled the homecoming of Youth Christian recently in Powder Springs.

PACE scored on four of five possessions in the second half to come away with a 40-8 victory. Brandon Stone ran for two touchdowns and Ryan Mickey threw a 31-yard pass to end James Brown to seal the victory.

The Panthers led 12-0 at the half after a six-yard run by Kelly Coats and a 21-yard run from Stone.

Stone's second touchdown run made it 20-8 early in the third quarter. Senior Taylor Mickey scored on a three-yard run to push the score to 28-8 late in the third quarter. Senior Josh McKibben returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown to end the scoring.

Stone finished with 115 yards on 12 carries and Coats added 85 yards on 14 carries. The Panthers finished the 2000 season at 4-5 overall and 3-4 in the GCAA conference.
