Preseason polls and rankings for high school basketball are in By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
The Atlanta Tipoff Club and the Atlanta Journal Constitution have released their preseason rankings and all region teams and several teams and local players are represented. The Landmark Christian boys are ranked sixth in Class A, while the girls team is ranked 12th in the preseason top 15. Todd Moret and Brandon Sumlin are both members of the 5-A preseason all region team and Moret is also a top 25 player in all classifications. Ashley Key and Brandi Renfro, two Lady War Eagles, are both members of the 5-A preseason all region team. Sandy Creek's L.T. Lockett is a member of the region 4-AAAA preseason all region team, while Northgate's Dominique Partrideg made the 5-AA team. Ashley Strickland of the Newnan Lady Cougars made the region 4-AAAAA preseason all region team. Play gets under way for these teams this week and next, as many teams enter preseason tournaments. |
