Packers win Super bowl title

There is nothing like a Super Bowl victory. Just ask the 85-pound Peachtree City Packers.

The team traveled to Alpharetta last weekend to face one of its county rivals, the Brooks Bears, for all the marbles. The Packers won 12-0 and remain undefeated on the season.

The Packers scored two touchdowns, one in the first quarter from Kevin O'Brien and one in the fourth quarter from Zach Copeland. They made it into the Bears red zone several other times but couldn't score, partly because of the wet weather. The Packers' running game was again successful thanks to their offensive line, especially with a solid performance from Taylor Stevens.

The team also played outstanding defense, holding Brooks to one first down in the game. Chris Liebe led the defense with 10 tackles, while Casey Wilson and John Propst also performed well defensively.

"We dominated the game," said Coach David Dean. "We had a good game plan and we stuck to it." The Packers also benefitted from five blocked punts in Saturday's game.

The Packers' season isn't over yet. They will travel to Gatlinburg this weekend with the 75-pound Packers for a Thanksgiving tournament. The team plans to stick together next year as well, playing in the 95-pound division.
