The two Fayette County teams in the state football playoffs, the Starr's Mill Panthers and the Sandy Creek Patriots, will take their teams on the road this week.

A win results in a trip to the state quarterfinals in their respective regions. Starr's Mill will travel to Warner Robins, while Sandy Creek travels to Columbus to take on the Shaw Raiders.

For all of the Panther fans out there who would like to travel to this week's game, travel on Ga. 85 toward Senoia and turn left on Ga. Highway 16. From 16, take Interstate 75 south until exit 177, the Interstate 475 south exit. Travel on I-475 until exit 146, the Ga. Highway 247 connecter. Turn left onto the connector and then right on Houston Lake Boulevard. The school should be in your sights now. Go Panthers!

For all of the Creek faithful traveling to Shaw High School this weekend, start by taking Ga. Highway 74 to Interstate 85 south. Travel on I-85 south to exit 21 toward Columbus. From there travel on I-185 south to exit 14, the Smith Road exit. Turn left onto Smith Road, which then becomes Woolridge Road. Turn right onto U.S. Highway 27, make a sharp left onto Hancock Road and then right on Schomburg Road. The school is at 7601 Schomburg Road. Go Patriots!
