Financial aid seminars offered this winter
Calvin King from the Georgia Finance Commission will be at McIntosh High School's media center Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. to meet with the parents of seniors. He will discuss the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, as well as some other ideas for financing college. Most private colleges require that the FAFSA be filed. It is also necessary for students seeking need-based scholarships or grants. In order to receive a HOPE grant, a family must either file the FAFSA or file an alternate HOPE form with the college which the student will attend. Other meetings will be hosted at sandy Creek High School Dec. 13, Starr's Mill High School Jan. 18 and Fayette County High School Feb. 20. All the meetings begin at 7 p.m.
