Big boxes will kill Braelinn

Just wish [Mayor] Lenox and our other three nonrepresentative representatives would exhibit commitment to the Peachtree City vision and let Wal-Mart take us to court.

Look at examples of weak and strong leadership and the difference it makes across any of our nation's big cities. The vision exhibited by Chicago civic leaders to keep shopping centers away from downtown Chicago has insured future generations of Chicagoans a vibrant, prosperous, and safe city. Compare downtown Chicago at 11 p.m. with downtown Atlanta to see what our Georgian uncommitted leaders wrought.

Next look at the weak leaders of the Peachtree City Council. Their legacy will not only be that they brought Jonesboro traffic to Peachtree City, but that they began the first step of "inner city" decay as they have condemned our "village" center at Braelinn a discount future without a solvent Kmart.

Worse, they have disheartened and killed our hopeful vision of what our village was supposed to be.

Is there time to replace Fritz, Lenox, and Brooks with councilmen who share our commitment to the vision? Tell Wal-Mart no, and go to court?
