Where will all these new stores find employees?

I am very disappointed in our city council for their decision to allow Wal-Mart to come into our city. We can drive about 12 miles to either the location in Fayetteville or Newnan.

Of course, prior to all of the additional construction done in those areas, it used to be a quick drive. We used to drive to Newnan in 15 minutes. There have been times it has taken me 45 minutes just to get from the Braelinn area through the intersection of Ga. highways 54 and 74.

This town does not need any more stores than it already has. I recently checked an Internet site and found that there are 115 stores within a 25-mile radius of our zip code. I know this count does not include the smaller stores. That is amazing.

With all of the planned stores around town we won't have a tree in sight before long. Where will these stores find employees? The current stores in town do not have enough employees and there certainly will be a problem finding good help for the new stores already under construction.

When we moved here five years ago, we were mislead by being told the cap for growth would be around 25,000. Well, look where we are now!

Yes, my spouse and I were two people moving into this great community, but we bought an existing home occupied by three people, thereby reducing the number of residents here. (The former owners moved out of the county.) We used to enjoy the drive to and from home along Hwy. 74 to Interstate 85 and now it is not a drive, it is a traffic jam.

None of us will be living in the community we came here to enjoy if this growth is not stopped. It is already not what we wanted. I can only imagine the frustration of the citizens who have lived here for 15 or 20 years. I do not believe the city council is voting the voice of the people and I hope the citizens remember this the next time elections come up.
