Harlem Legends coming to FCHS By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
If you listen closely, you can hear the tune of "Sweet Georgia Brown" getting closer and closer. That's because Saturday, Nov. 11, the Harlem Legends, a team made up of former Harlem Globetrotters, will host a clinic at Fayette County High School and will then take on the Fayette County All Stars. The clinic is open to all ages and will be in the Fayette County High School gym from noon to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $25 if you preregister and $30 if you register at the door. The game will be in the gym at 7 p.m. and admission will cost $10 for adults and $7 for children. The members of the Harlem Legends are former Globetrotters Michael Douglas, Larry "Shorty" Coleman, Tyrone "Hollywood" Brown, Antoine Scott, Coata Malone and Harold "Bo Bo" Hubbard. Other players will include former Washington National Jamal McCoy, former USBL player Melvin Harris, Tyrone Gainer, former NAIA Champ, Bobby Butler, former Atlanta Falcon, and Willie "Big Chill" Harris, a former Jackson State All Star. The game and clinic are part of a benefit for the Fayette County High School Athletic Booster Club. Tickets can be purchased at Fayette County high, middle and elementary schools, Fayette County youth basketball registration, T&G All Sports, Fayette Sporting Goods and Stevi B's Pizza.
