Study of book of James begins today at Providence

Eve Hanie of Providence United Methodist Church will begin a Bible class for the study of the book of James today, Nov. 1, with an overview of the book and a discussion of the author. FFBC women to observe Women's World Day of Prayer

The ladies of Fayetteville First Baptist Church will observe the South Metro Association's Baptist Women's World Day of Prayer on Monday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. Fellowship time will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

Brooks UMC plans Fall Fling Nov. 4

Brooks United Methodist Church will host its annual Fall Fling and barbecue Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Local merchants will have a variety of Christmas items for sale and activities will be provided for children. For more information, call Amy Daughtry at 770-716-1958.

Providence youth will sell Christmas trees

The youth groups at Providence United Methodist Church will take orders for Fraser Fir Christmas trees by phone or by mail through Nov. 26. Prices are: 6-7 ft., $45; 8 ft., $55; 9 ft., $60; 10 ft., $80. Trees will be available for pickup or delivery on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 2. Providence middle schoolers invited to Anniston retreat

Middle high youth at Providence United Methodist Church will have a retreat at Camp Lee in Anniston, Ala. Nov. 10-12. The cost is $75 and deadline for registration is Nov. 5.
