Recreation fields
are not proper place for dogs' potties
Today, I was appalled by the lack of concern some people have for the health of our children. At my daughter's soccer game, a large dog was allowed to run free, and he ran onto the field, during the game, and defecated. I have also witnessed dogs urinating on the fields. These fields are for our children to play on, not animals' potties. We are not allowed to build fields on old pastures because of sanitary purposes. Why do people think it is okay to let their animals contaminate the soil of a sports area? I do not want my daughter playing in a toilet. I am a pet lover, but sports complexes are not the place to bring your dogs for their recreation. Aside from the health issue, one never knows when two dogs are going to fight. Last weekend I witnessed a dog fight that could have resulted in the injury of a child. Please, for the safety of our children, leave your pets at home. Vickie Estep Peachtree City
