Fund-raiser set to aid child care
The Provider Network Childcare Management Inc. will host its third annual fund-raising dinner Sunday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel near the Atlanta airport. Proceeds will benefit child care centers under the umbrella of the PNCMI, a nonprofit Christian network dedicated to providing quality child care "at cost" and free family services in a community-based environment. No child is turned away because of a disability (downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, hyperactivity, etc.) or because of a parent's inability to pay due to hardship. PNCMI's mission is to assist in strengthening and preserving families while nurturing and enhancing each child's unique talents and abilities. The network's commitment to families and the community include a unique outreach ministry that currently provides referral and resource services, a food pantry, and a clothes closet to those in need. Services will soon include child health checks, legal and family counseling, and employment services. Keynote speaker for the evening will be Donna Bruce, a well-known motivational speaker living in the Atlanta area. Bruce has 15 years of experience in family and children services. She also specializes in teaching Christian parenting workshops, consulting child care and family service centers on issues ranging from youth mentoring to handling issues of child abuse. The program also will feature music from local talents Steve Archer and Norris Smith Sr., a dance performance by Ms. Eboni Davis. Sen. Donzella James will present the purpose for the evening's event. Rhonda Davis, with U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney's office, will extend greetings to the attendees. A special message will be presented by Jamella Malcom, a parent whose life has been touched by the generosity and uniqueness of God's Little Angels, a child care center supported under PNCMI. PNCMI is governed by a board of directors, and comprised of a network of member child care and home day care centers throughout the Atlanta area with the same vision. PNCMI was founded by minister Eka MacFoy.
