'They Were Raptured' opens in College Park Friday

Open Word Christian Ministries in Union City will present a play this weekend, designed to offer a Christian alternative to the Halloween season.

"They Were Raptured" is said to be a spiritually moving and entertaining dramatization about a group of individuals who experience life-changing decisions and blessings of the Rapture.

The play will be presented Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27 and 28, at Benjamin Banneker High School, 5935 Feldwood Rd. in College Park, with performances scheduled for 7:30 p.m. nightly. The play is designed for the entire family. Characters portrayed will include a minister, a business woman, a college student, and an elderly woman.

Open word Ministries is under the pastoral leadership of Pastors Gary K. and Maya Taylor, who commented on the play:

"In these last days, God has called for the body of Christ to minister to all people in a variety of different ways," said Pastor Maya Taylor. "While in the midst of the Halloween season of ghosts, witches and other fearful celebrations and antics, "They Were Raptured" serves as an excellent alternative to bring forth a message of instilling the importance of making God-fearing decisions, while facing peer pressure, drugs, infidelity, religiosity, and a host of worldly sins."

Admission donations are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Contact Debra Walker at 770-964-3379 for more information on securing individual or group tickets.
