Professional, apprentice cast auditions set

Offshoot Productions is gearing up for a busy season, with two sets of auditions slated for October and November.

Tuesday and Thursday evening, Oct. 24 and 26, and Sunday afternoon, Oct. 29, auditions will be conducted for professional, non-Equity actors and musicians to perform in Shakespeare's comedy of disguise and love, "Twelfth Night." Auditions are by appointment, and those wishing to try out should call 770-631-2362.

Tuesday and Thursday auditions will be at McIntosh High School on Walt Banks Road in Peachtree City, while the Sunday audition will be at the LaFayette Educational Center, 205 LaFayette Ave., Fayetteville.

Those auditioning should prepare comic monologues and bring their head shots and resumes. Singers should bring prepared songs, and musicians should bring their instruments.

Auditions and interviews for winter-spring theater apprentices will be Sunday afternoon, Nov. 12, from 1 - 4 p.m. at LaFayette Educational Center. These auditions are also by appointment only, and those wishing to apprentice must fill out application forms.

Apprentices, ages 13 and up, participate in intensive acting workshops, and take on backstage responsibilities for "Twelfth Night." Several apprentices will also fill small roles in that production. In addition, apprentices will perform in their own show, "The Blue Light and Other Stories," which will take place between April 20 and 29 at the LaFayette Educational Center.

The apprentice company, which may include technical apprentices who do not wish to perform, are mentored by the professional cast and staff. For information, phone Offshoot Productions at 770-631-2362 or e-mail to offshootpr@aol.com.
