Youth Gospel music talent search underway

Youth ages 8-21 in the Fayette area are invited to audition for a Gospel music talent show sponsored by the Youth Council of Chariots of Fire Ministries in Riverdale.

Auditions will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Harvest Faith International Church, 5842 Reynolds Rd. in Morrow.

The Gospel Talent Search is seeking talented youth to compete in soloist or group singing categories. Talent will be judged by individuals from the recording and promotion industry as well as other artists.

Finalists will compete on Nov. 30 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta for a grand prize of a recording contract for 10 hours of recording time, courtesy of Windsong Records.

"This is a community support fund-raiser," a spokesperson explains, "sponsored by the Youth Council of Chariots of Fire Ministries, Inc. Outreach Program. Our Restoration Center and other homeless shelters provide food, clothes and housing for youth and their families. We offer a temporary resettlement facility for families left homeless. This is not a shelter, but a homelike facility with a 24-hour on-site resident director."

This is an open audition, however, all contestants must perform inspirational/Gospel music and register by calling 678-222-2248, ext. 1161, to receive audition schedule and first priority.

Chariots of Fire Ministries is a nonprofit organization and all proceeds will benefit homeless youth and their families, the Restoration Center, and other shelters.
