St. Gabriel's offers vascular screenings

The Catholic Church of St. Gabriel has teamed up with Lifeline Screening to offer four vascular screening tests at the church on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Both parishioners and members of the community are invited to be tested on site by the largest mobile vascular screening service in the nation. Screenings will be done with state-of-the-art equipment administered by registered sonographers.

Tests offered will be carotid vascular, abdominal aortic aneurysm, ankle brachial index, and osteoporosis. Each test will cost $35, but a $10 credit will be issued for those signing up for a complete screening which costs $95.

Once the tests are administered, the results are reviewed by a board-certified physician and mailed back to the individual within 12 business days. Results can then be taken to an individual physician if problems are detected.

Each test takes about 10 minutes and preregistration is necessary. Those interested in participating may call 1-800-407-4557 to register. Additional information may be obtained by calling St. Gabriel's church office at 770-461-0492.

The church is located on Antioch Rd. in Fayetteville.
